February is my fave month of the year. It’s my birthday month. It’s my wedding anniversary month. And it is my husband’s birthday month. It is full of love for me.
Love is my inspiration for writing. I write happy ever after endings. I need that happy ending. I write for myself more than I write for readers. Knowing that two characters can manage to get through life threatening obstacles and still love each other is how I navigate this world.
My husband and I are in this life together. He is my biggest fan. I am obsessed with him and his happiness. So when I write about great loves, I write about my own. I write about a love that can withstand anything.
I never understood why people judge books so harshly that feature a romance element. Everything we do in life is about love. It doesn’t have to be an obvious romantic love in the story. But love shows up in all stories. In every story almost. Love rules everything in this world. And I chose to write about it more blatantly.
I am not ashamed of what I write. I am not ashamed to post about my romance novels or erotica that I post on Archive of Our Own. I am proud to write about things that ordinary people can forget about reality for awhile. I am a writer and I will continue to write as long as I have a story in me.
